The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has approved the participation of Corps personnel in the “20 Days of Eloquence – Nigeria Speaks to the World,” a Guinness World Records official attempt for the longest public speaking relay. The event is scheduled to hold in Lagos from April 1 to April 21, 2026.
The Lagos State Commandant of the Corps, Adedotun Keshinro, has charged participating officers from the command to see themselves as ambassadors of the service and to uphold its reputation during this rare global speaking opportunity.
The Dean of the School of Eloquence, Ubong Essien, formally received the NSCDC representatives—Assistant Commandant of Corps Adebimpe Bada and Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin—on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the organisation’s global platform in Osborne, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The Guinness World Record attempt provides the Corps with a unique platform to articulate its core mandates, including Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection, the Safe School Initiative, crisis and disaster management, intelligence gathering, community engagement, regulation of private guard companies, and VIP protection.
Saturday marked a significant milestone in the exercise, with the successful completion of the first half of the 20-day speaking relay by ACC Adebimpe Bada. The second phase has now commenced, led by SC Oluwaseun Abolurin, as the journey toward setting a new world record in public speaking continues.
