Abuja The eCommissioner of Police in Zamfara State has called on residents to use the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud to promote peace, unity and harmonious coexistence by rejecting all forms of violence and criminality.
The police chief urged Muslim faithful and other residents of the state to offer prayers for lasting peace, security and sustainable development in Zamfara and Nigeria as a whole, stressing that the celebration provides an opportunity for reflection on the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He advised members of the public to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the festivities and avoid actions capable of disrupting public order or threatening the safety of others.
The Commissioner further reaffirmed the commitment of the Zamfara State Police Command to protecting lives and property before, during and after the celebration. He assured residents that adequate security measures had been put in place across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch free Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
He also called for continued cooperation between the public and security agencies, urging residents to provide timely and credible information that could assist in preventing crime and enhancing public safety.
The police boss congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion and prayed that the celebration would bring peace, security, prosperity and divine blessings to Zamfara State and the nation at large.
