FFS CONTAINS RESIDENTIAL FIRE IN GOMBE, SAVES ₦20 MILLION WORTH OF PROPERTY

The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Gombe State Command, through its ATM Fire Operations Base, successfully responded to a residential fire incident at Riyal Quarters, behind the residence of Alhaji Adamu P.A., Gombe, at about 3:34 p.m.
The fire affected a four-bedroom residential flat. Upon receiving the distress call, firefighters were immediately mobilised to the scene under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent of Fire I (ASF I) Mohammed Gambo. The crew carried out swift and coordinated firefighting operations, effectively containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
A post-incident assessment revealed that property valued at approximately ₦7 million was damaged by the fire. However, due to the prompt and professional intervention of the firefighters, property estimated at ₦20 million was successfully salvaged, particularly given the high exposure risk to adjoining structures and valuable items within the area.
No casualties were recorded during the incident.
The Federal Fire Service urges members of the public to exercise caution in the use of electrical appliances and other potential fire hazards in their homes. The Service reiterates that strict adherence to basic fire safety practices and the prompt reporting of fire emergencies are critical to reducing losses and safeguarding lives and property.
