The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has disclosed that close to two million Nigerians are vying for just 30,000 available positions across the country’s paramilitary agencies.
Figures published on the board’s recruitment portal on Monday revealed that the ongoing exercise has drawn 1.91 million applications.
According to sources, the board had earlier announced its intention to recruit at least 30,000 candidates across the four agencies before the online application process began.
Kogi State topped the list of applicants with 116,243 submissions, trailed by Kaduna with 114,599, and Benue with 110,644. Other states with notably high application numbers include Kano (89,421), Niger (79,567), and Kwara (78,467).
At the other end of the spectrum, Lagos recorded 14,221 applications, while Bayelsa registered the lowest figure at 11,680.
The board said that the shortlisting process is underway, and successful applicants will be contacted in the coming weeks. “Please monitor your email and text messages for notifications,” it advised.
