Brigadier General Bugaje, who assumed command of the 2 Division on 30th June 2025, stated that the visit is part of his familiarization tour aimed at introducing himself to heads of military and paramilitary organizations within the region. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and unity between military and paramilitary agencies in ensuring the security of the state.
Speaking during the visit, Brigadier General Bugaje assured that under his leadership, the 2 Division remains committed to working closely with NSCDC and other security agencies in Oyo State. “I assure you that we will remain committed to preserving the peace of Oyo State, and we shall cooperate with your command in intelligence gathering to ensure the safety and security of our people,” he said.
In his remarks, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Commandant Augustine Padonu, expressed his appreciation for the visit and reiterated the importance of collaboration with military agencies, particularly in areas such as intelligence sharing and joint operations. He highlighted the ongoing support he has received from previous Garrison Commanders, especially in the area of training, and requested continued support in this regard.
Commandant Padonu also acknowledged the security challenges facing the state, particularly in the Oke-Ogun region, where incidents of kidnapping and farmer-herder clashes have raised concerns. He assured Brigadier General Bugaje that NSCDC will continue to work closely with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to combat these challenges and ensure peace across Oyo State.
The Garrison Commander wrote in the visitors’ book, “I am highly impressed with the immaculate turnout of the staff of the Command especially the Quarter Guard and the general display of professionalism by the staff. I urge the Commandant to always maintain the enviable standard worthy of emulation by all other Commands. Thank you so much for the warm reception and please do keep the flag fluttering.”
