The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, has trained 107 private security operatives as part of efforts to boost the capacity and professionalism of private guard companies operating within the state.
The one-day capacity-building workshop, organized by the Command’s Private Guard Company (PGC) Department, was held at Girls High School, Abayi, Aba. It drew participants from 17 licensed private security firms across Abia State.
The training covered critical areas such as intelligence gathering and reporting, first aid and emergency response, fire safety, and effective execution of guard duties.
Speaking at the event, NSCDC officials emphasized the need for continuous training and vigilance among private security personnel, urging them to remain professional, alert, and law-abiding in the discharge of their responsibilities.
According to the Command, the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Corps and private security providers in maintaining public safety and supporting national security objectives.
The successful participants were commended for their enthusiasm and commitment to improving their competence in line with global best practices.
