As part of its statutory mandate to regulate and monitor the activities of Private Guard Companies (PGCs), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has conducted a two-day training and sensitization programme for operatives of Private Guard Companies in Suletankarkar Local Government Area.
The exercise, which took place on 1st – 3rd June 2025, focused on equipping private security personnel with the essential knowledge and skills required for professional conduct, operational discipline, and strict adherence to security regulations.
Leading the NSCDC team was the Head of Department, Private Guard Companies (HOD PGC) DCC Nasiru Musa , Jigawa State Command, who delivered comprehensive lectures on the “nitty-gritty of private guard operations”, including legal frameworks, code of conduct, surveillance techniques, and civil-military cooperation.
The training forms part of the Command’s renewed effort to sanitize and standardize private security operations across the state.
It also aims to ensure that all registered PGCs operate in line with national security standards and contribute meaningfully to the overall safety architecture in their assigned jurisdictions.
Jumad Security Company, which is assigned to Suletankarkar LGA, participated actively in the training.
The operatives were exposed to both theoretical and practical aspects of private guard duties.
In his closing remarks, DCC Nasiru Musa commended the participants for their responsiveness and professionalism.
He emphasized that the NSCDC will continue to monitor, support, and evaluate the performance of private guard operatives across the state to ensure optimal service delivery.
The Command calls on all licensed PGCs in Jigawa State to remain compliant, proactive, and committed to best practices in the interest of public safety and national security.
