Eid-el-Kabir celebration: Ishaku Musa, Plateau NSCDC Commandant, Assures Residents Of Safety, Develops Operational Order

The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reiterated its determination along with other security agencies in the state to provide adequate security for residents during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Muslims nationwide will celebrate Eid-el-Kabir with festivities that include picnics, visits to tourist spots, and gatherings with friends and family on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Speaking Friday at the Command’s headquarters, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Ishaku Musa, disclosed that his Command has developed an operational order to ensure adequate security during and after the Sallah holiday.

To make the holiday crime-free, Musa advised travellers, guests, and residents to remain vigilant, prioritise their safety, report suspicious activities, and be cautious of strangers around them.

“The public should expect to see queues at designated checkpoints, with NSCDC officers working alongside other security agents to conduct stop-and-search operations in various locations within and outside the state capital especially on roads leading to prayer grounds during the celebration,” said Commandant Musa.

According to him, all major towns in the state will experience joint task force operations in collaboration with sister security agencies, ensuring continuous surveillance and patrols.

“Given the anticipated influx of visitors to Plateau State for the festivities, there can be no better time for the Plateau State NSCDC to solicit public patience, as thorough security checks will be conducted.

“Our officers and men will be visibly stationed at prayer grounds and strategically positioned to prevent attacks and deter criminal activity,” he added.
