Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, will deliver a keynote address and publicly present a new 21 chapter book titled “The Defender of the Nation: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Three Year Onslaught Against Insecurity” at this year’s People’s Security Monitor Conference scheduled for Thursday, 4 June 2026, in Abuja.
The high profile event will hold at the Nigerian National Merit Award House, Maitama, and is expected to bring together senior military officers, security chiefs, government officials, diplomats, policy experts, academics, civil society organisations and media practitioners from across the country.
The public presentation of the book is regarded as a cardinal event of the 2026 People’s Security Monitor Conference, with organisers describing it as a significant contribution to national discourse on security governance, leadership and institutional reforms in Nigeria.
The book was authored by Isiaka Mustapha, who serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Editor-In-Chief of People’s Security Monitor, a security focused media and policy platform dedicated to reporting and analysing developments within Nigeria’s security sector.
The publication provides an extensive analysis of the security strategies, operational engagements and policy interventions introduced by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu since assuming office nearly three years ago in confronting terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, oil theft and other security threats confronting the nation.
Structured into 21 detailed chapters, the book reportedly documents the roles played by the Armed Forces, intelligence agencies and other security institutions in ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability across different regions of Nigeria.
According to the organisers, the publication also highlights initiatives aimed at strengthening intelligence gathering, improving inter agency cooperation, enhancing military operational capacity and promoting community based approaches to national security management.
General Musa is expected to use the occasion to assess Nigeria’s evolving security environment, discuss ongoing military operations and reaffirm the commitment of the Federal Government and the Armed Forces towards protecting the nation’s sovereignty and critical national assets.
The conference will also feature goodwill messages, strategic policy discussions and engagements among stakeholders within the security and governance sectors, with observers noting that the unveiling of “The Defender of the Nation: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Three Year Onslaught Against Insecurity” will serve as an important reference material for researchers, policy makers, students and practitioners interested in national security and governance studies.
