NSCDC Niger State Boosts Security Operations with Modern Tactical and Technological Equipment

The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has recorded a major milestone in its ongoing efforts to strengthen security operations with the acquisition and distribution of modern tactical gear and advanced technological equipment.
This development aligns with the strategic vision of the Commandant General, Prof. Abubakar A. Audi, mni, OFR, aimed at repositioning the Corps for improved service delivery, enhanced operational efficiency, and proactive response to emerging security challenges nationwide.
Speaking during the official unveiling and handover of the equipment, the State Commandant, Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to utilising the new assets to boost operational capacity and effectiveness.
He explained that the equipment would be strategically deployed to critical and high-risk areas across the state, particularly in addressing illegal activities such as crude oil theft (illegal bunkering), illegal mining, and other security threats prevalent in difficult terrains, including riverine and remote locations.
“These modern tools will significantly enhance our operational capabilities, enabling us to navigate challenging environments and effectively combat criminal activities that threaten national assets and public safety,” the Commandant stated.
Commandant Aniviye further noted that the timely provision of the equipment reflects the proactive and visionary leadership of the Commandant General. He described Prof. Audi as a seasoned and result-driven leader whose expertise and commitment continue to drive meaningful reforms within the Corps.
The Command reassured residents of Niger State of its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives, critical infrastructure, and national assets. It also reiterated its resolve to intensify surveillance, enforcement, and collaborative security operations across all sectors.
The newly acquired equipment is expected to boost personnel morale while enhancing rapid response capability, intelligence gathering, and overall operational performance.
The NSCDC Niger State Command therefore calls on members of the public to continue supporting its efforts by providing credible and timely information to help sustain peace and security across the state.
