The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Gombe State Command, participated alongside key stakeholders in a one-day review of the 2026 Seasonal Rainfall Prediction (SRP) and stakeholders’ preparedness. The programme was organised by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Gombe State.
The engagement provided a strategic platform for relevant agencies to analyse projected rainfall patterns, assess potential risks, and enhance inter-agency coordination for effective disaster preparedness and response.
The State Controller was represented at the event by DSF ASF Job Fadason, Head of the Provost Unit, and DSF Bello Mohammed from the Operations Department.
The Command reiterated its commitment to proactive emergency management, sustained collaboration with sister agencies, and the protection of lives and property across the state, particularly during the rainy season.
The FFS also emphasised the importance of early preparedness, public awareness, and timely response mechanisms in mitigating the impact of flooding and other rain-related emergencies. It called on residents to adhere to safety advisories and support government efforts aimed at reducing disaster risks.
The Command further assured the public of its readiness to respond swiftly to emergencies and to continue working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a safe and resilient environment throughout the 2026 rainy season.
