EASTER CELEBRATIONS: LAGOS NSCDC DEPLOYS 2,250 PERSONNEL TO SAFEGUARD CITIZENS AND CRITICAL ASSETS

In line with the Federal Government’s declaration of Friday, 3rd April (Good Friday) and Monday, 6th April (Easter Monday) 2026 as public holidays by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has mobilized personnel and resources to ensure comprehensive safety and security across the state during the festive period.
The Lagos State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, emphasized that this deployment reaffirms the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting citizens as well as all critical national assets and infrastructure across the state’s economic sectors.
A total of 2,250 officers and men have been strategically deployed to key locations, including worship centres, recreational parks, strategic points, public facilities, and other high-risk areas. This proactive deployment aims to prevent vandalism, criminal activities, and any threat to the state’s development before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.
Addressing his management team, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Tactical, Operational, and Counter-Terrorism Commanders at the State Headquarters in Alausa on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, Mr. Keshinro highlighted that operational strategies have been revitalized to eliminate criminal threats and ensure the state remains secure during this critical festive period.
The Lagos State Command will work closely with sister security agencies to maximize effectiveness during Easter. Officers have been instructed to maintain vigilant oversight over all strategic locations, right-of-ways, oil pipeline installations, religious centres, parks, gardens, and public and private facilities throughout the holiday period.
To reinforce security, the Command will utilize both physical and non-physical assets, robust intelligence gathering, intensive patrols, crime prevention strategies, and specialised units such as the Special Female Squad (SFS) and Quick Intervention Squad (QIS). These measures are designed to ensure holistic safety and protection before, during, and after the celebrations.
In his message, the Lagos State Commandant also extended Easter greetings to all Christian faithful in the state, urging everyone to embrace the core values of this season, including love, forgiveness, sacrifice, compassion, humility, mercy, and tolerance.
