The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy, has sustained its offensive against crude oil theft and illegal activities in Ondo State, leading to the arrest of five suspected offenders.
The joint operation, carried out as part of ongoing efforts to curb economic sabotage, targeted identified hotspots linked to oil theft and pipeline vandalism. Security operatives also intensified surveillance across critical infrastructure corridors to prevent further breaches and safeguard national assets.
Speaking on the development, Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye condemned acts of vandalism and illegal oil dealings, describing them as crimes against the nation’s collective patrimony. He stressed that such activities not only weaken the economy but also threaten environmental safety and national security.
He further warned perpetrators and their collaborators to desist from engaging in criminal acts, reiterating that the NSCDC and its partners remain resolute in bringing offenders to justice. He also called on members of the public to support security agencies with credible information to help eliminate oil theft and protect critical national infrastructure.
