President Tinubu
People’s Security Monitor firmly supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to collaborate with the United States in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria. This position is guided by one overriding principle: the survival, stability, and corporate existence of the Nigerian state must come above all other considerations.
Terrorism remains one of the gravest threats to Nigeria’s national security, economic growth, and social cohesion. From insurgency to banditry and transnational criminal networks, these threats have evolved beyond local capacity alone and now require intelligence-driven, technologically advanced, and globally coordinated responses.
Collaboration between Nigeria and the United States is therefore not a sign of weakness, but a reflection of strategic wisdom. Modern security challenges are global in nature, and no responsible government can confront them in isolation. Intelligence sharing, advanced surveillance, capacity building, and operational support are critical tools in defeating terror networks.
It must be clearly stated that a well-defined bilateral security relationship does not, in any form, breach Nigeria’s sovereignty. Rather, it reinforces sovereignty by strengthening the state’s ability to protect its territory, secure its citizens, and defend its institutions against violent non-state actors.
Unfortunately, some unpatriotic politicians have chosen to undermine national efforts by working hand in hand with agents of insecurity. Their objective is not national safety, but the deliberate sustenance of chaos, so that insecurity can be weaponized as a pathway to political power.
These actors see instability as political capital and human suffering as a strategy. By sabotaging security efforts and spreading misinformation, they seek to portray Nigeria as ungovernable, believing that crisis will create an opening for their personal ambitions.
People’s Security Monitor rejects this dangerous approach and warns that no political ambition is worth the blood of innocent Nigerians. National security must never be sacrificed on the altar of desperation, propaganda, or elite power struggles.
Political disagreements are natural in a democracy, but they must never translate into sabotage of national survival. The fight against terrorism should not be reduced to partisan calculations or opportunistic opposition.
Equally troubling is the attempt to ethnicize or regionalize the insecurity challenge. Terrorism does not discriminate by ethnicity, religion, or geography. Nigerians from all backgrounds are victims, and the response must be united, inclusive, and firmly national in outlook.
As Nigeria prepares for future general elections, peace and security remain the foundation upon which credible democratic processes are built. Elections cannot thrive in an atmosphere of fear, displacement, and violence. Securing the nation today is an investment in democratic stability tomorrow.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu carries the constitutional responsibility to protect lives and preserve the sanctity of Nigeria’s corporate existence. This duty transcends political cycles, sectional interests, and individual aspirations.
Nigeria is not only above individuals; Nigeria is more important than individuals. Our ambitions, freedoms, and opportunities exist because the nation exists. The unfulfilled ambitions of a few must never be allowed to endanger the collective future of over 200 million Nigerians.
People’s Security Monitor therefore stands firmly in support of President Tinubu’s strategic collaboration with the United States to flush out terrorists from Nigeria. National security is a sacred responsibility, and any alliance that strengthens Nigeria’s capacity to protect its people is not only justified, but necessary.
If you wish, I can make this sharper for a national newspaper, tone it down slightly for diplomatic circulation, or brand it strictly as a press statement signed by People’s Security Monitor.
