CDOWA Abia Visits Governor’s Wife, Secures Commitment for Strategic Support


The Civil Defence Officers’ Wives Association (CDOWA), Abia State Chapter, on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Wife of the Governor of Abia State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian service and community development.
Speaking during the visit, the Desk Officer, Mrs. Rita Nwaogu, who represented the Chairperson, Princess Mrs. Alice Akinsola, outlined several humanitarian and social intervention programmes previously undertaken by the association across the state. She noted that CDOWA remains dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups, particularly women and children, through targeted outreach and empowerment initiatives.
In her remarks, Her Excellency warmly received the delegation and commended the association for its dedication and meaningful contributions to society. She described their efforts as commendable and aligned with the broader objectives of improving the welfare of families within the state.
The Governor’s Wife assured the association of her unwavering support and pledged to collaborate closely with CDOWA, especially in initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, child welfare, and other social development programmes.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Association’s Secretary, Mrs. Deborah Ikenna, who expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the Governor’s Wife’s commitment to partnership and sustained engagement.
