12 Brigade Troops Rescue Six Kidnapped Victims in Coordinated Operations Across Ejiba and Saminaka Forests

In a sustained offensive against banditry and kidnapping across Kogi State, troops of the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have achieved another significant breakthrough with the rescue of six kidnapped victims. The successful mission was carried out during a coordinated search-and-rescue operation within the Ejiba–Saminaka Forest corridor, spanning Yagba East and Yagba West Local Government Areas. This effort underscores the Brigade’s continued commitment to eradicating criminal activities and improving security throughout the region.

The operation was conducted following intensified air and ground offensives, supported by a Nigeria Police helicopter. Troops stationed at Patrol Base Ejiba in Yagba West intercepted the victims, who were found in stable condition. They were confirmed to have been released by the bandits due to the sustained pressure exerted by security forces during the joint operations.

Five of the rescued individuals have been debriefed and reunited with their families in Egbe and Ejiba communities of Yagba West. The sixth victim, who required immediate medical attention at the time of rescue, is currently receiving treatment.

The 12 Brigade reassures the public and the people of Kogi State that the Nigerian Army remains steadfast in its mandate to protect lives and property. Troops will continue to intensify operations, dominate forested areas and known hideouts, and deny criminal elements any freedom of action.
