The State Controller, Federal Fire Service (FFS), Niger State Command, AC Alkali D.M., today officially handed over a fire appliance to the Governor of Niger State during a brief ceremony held at the Government House, Minna. The newly presented appliance has already been deployed to strengthen on-site fire protection at the Government House while also supporting emergency response operations across the state.
Speaking during the presentation, the State Controller noted that the addition of the appliance will significantly boost the Command’s capacity to respond promptly to fire incidents and other emergencies. He explained that this deployment aligns with the Service’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and critical government infrastructure.
In his remarks, Governor Umar Bago commended the leadership of the Federal Fire Service, particularly the Controller General and the State Controller, for their proactive efforts in enhancing fire safety across Niger State. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for improving firefighting assets, advancing personnel training, and strengthening the overall emergency management system. The Governor also emphasized the need for greater collaboration to prevent fire outbreaks, especially with the onset of the dry season.
The Niger State Command urges residents to remain vigilant, adopt safe fire practices, and promptly report any emergencies as efforts to protect communities continue.
