NSCDC Sokoto Honours VIP Proficiency Course Graduates, Reaffirms Commitment to Enhanced Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto State Command, has honoured participants of the VIP Proficiency Course II (Basic Tactical Skills and Weapon Handling), following recent Presidential directives strengthening national security protocols and expanding the Corps’ mandate on VIP protection and safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).

While receiving the course participants on Monday, 1st December 2025, the State Commandant, CC E.A. Ajayi, held a strategic briefing centred on repositioning the Command toward a more proactive, effective, and result-oriented security approach across Sokoto State.

Delivering the message of the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed .A. Audi, the State Commandant stressed the need for heightened commitment, discipline, dedication, and professionalism among personnel. He noted that national expectations of the Corps have increased under the expanded mandate.

CC Ajayi highlighted the importance of professionalism, national interest, purposefulness, and strong inter-agency collaboration as essential pillars for effective operations under the new directives.

The State Commandant presented certificates to the course participants and commended their resilience and outstanding performance throughout the four-week training held at the Centre for Civil Defence Studies, Sauka, Abuja, from 26th October to 26th November 2025.

He urged the officers to renew their commitment to duty and intensify efforts toward delivering more impactful service to the State and the Nation. He further emphasized the need for unwavering professionalism in carrying out the Corps’ statutory responsibilities.

Acknowledging the continuously evolving security landscape, the State Commandant advised personnel to remain vigilant, proactive, and fully dedicated to safeguarding lives and the well-being of citizens.

CC Ajayi reminded officers and men of their role as protectors of the State, stressing the need to uphold the Corps’ core values of integrity, discipline, and selfless service. He expressed optimism that the Corps will continue to strengthen its contribution to the peace and security architecture of Sokoto State.
