Less than three months into his tenure, the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Olumode Adeyemi Samuel, has initiated bold reforms aimed at improving operational efficiency across the country. During his first management meeting after assuming office, he issued a directive for all damaged fire trucks across the nation’s geopolitical zones to be retrieved, repaired, and reinstated to service to enhance effective fire response operations.
In line with this directive and following the successful first phase in the South West—the Federal Fire Service has now completed the second phase of the fleet refurbishment project in the North Central region. Earlier today, six fully restored fire appliances, including a Rapid Intervention Vehicle and two Water Tenders, were officially handed over at the Federal Fire Service Headquarters in Garki, Abuja.
The Controller General commended Afrodezt Global Services Limited for their timely and professional execution of the project. He emphasized that strong public-private partnerships remain vital to strengthening national fire response capacity and ensuring that Nigeria’s fire services are better equipped to safeguard lives and property.
