Plateau NSCDC Commandant, Ishaku Musa, Vows Tougher Times For Illegal Miners, Warns Against Regulatory Breaches

The helmsman of the Plateau State Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Command, Commandant Ishaku Musa, has issued a stern warning to illegal miners in Plateau State to henceforth desist from economic sabotage or face the full wrath of the law.

Commandant Musa, while speaking with journalists on Thursday, disclosed that the NSCDC will go full swing in punishing anyone caught engaging in such nefarious activities.

“We can’t afford to leave our mining sector in the hands of criminals, as it forms a major segment of our economic survival and is a key income earner.
We will not stand by and watch a handful of individuals subject our economy to avoidable harm. This explains our renewed battle against illegal mining. Anyone caught, no matter how highly placed, will face the full wrath of the law,”
 said Commandant Musa.

In the same vein, Commandant Musa warned registered miners operating with expired licences to desist and take immediate steps to renew them with the relevant authorities.

Commandant Musa also commended Dr. Ahmed Audi, the Commandant General, for his guidance and the remarkable progress made within the mining industry.
