NSCDC promotes Adamawa officer for returning N850,000 misplaced by pilgrim

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has promoted an official serving in Adamawa State who returned the sum of N850,000 that a pilgrim misplaced.

The Commander of the NSCDC in Adamawa State, Idris Bande, disclosed on Wednesday that Abubakar Abdukadir Moyos demonstrated honesty on Friday, May 16, 2025, when he returned a bag that he found.

The belonged to one Maumuna Salihu, an intending Muslim pilgrim from Taraba State who was at the International Airport, Yola, for airlift for the 2025 Hajj.

“In the bag was 500 US dollars and 300 Saudi Riyal, totalling N850,000,” the commandant disclosed.

During the ceremony in Yola to honour Abubakar Moyos, the commandant said Moyos’ integrity uplifts the NSCDC as an institution and reminds all Nigerians the kind of people they should strive to be.

He expressed thanks to the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi for his belief in recognizing and honouring honesty.

He said the commandant general approved the promotion of Moyos from Corps Assistant II to Corps Assistant I with immediate effect.
