BRIGADIER GENERAL AA EGBEJULE ASSUMES COMMAND AS 10TH COMMANDER 24 TASK FORCE BRIGADE DIKWA, calls for a rededication to duty and professionalism

Brigadier General Egbejule assumed command as the 10th Commander, 24 Task Force Brigade Dikwa on 30 January 2025. The colourful handing and taking over ceremony was held at the 24 Task Force Brigade Headquarters, Dikwa, Borno State.

In his farewell remarks, Brigadier General EB Barkins who is proceeding to 22 Brigade Ilorin to assume command as the new Brigade Commander, thanked officers and soldiers of the Brigade for the immense support and cooperation he enjoyed during his tenure as Brigade Commander.

He praised the Brigade’s exemplary professionalism, tireless dedication, and collaborative spirit, all of which contributed significantly to their victories over Boko Haram insurgents. He urged the officers and soldiers to extend similar cooperation and support to the new Commander to enable him to succeed as he piloted the affairs of the Brigade.

Making his remarks during the handing and taking over ceremony, the Commander 24 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General AA Egbejule urged officers and soldiers of the Brigade to rededicate themselves to their duties and strive to always maintain the highest standards of professionalism to defeat the menace of BH/ISWAP within the Brigade Area of Operations. He appreciated the efforts of the outgone Commander for the success recorded in the fight against the insurgents and he promised to improve on what his predecessor had achieved.

He paid tribute to the outstanding contributions and enduring impact of the outgone Commander and also thanked him for shaping the Brigade. He further expressed his admiration for the wealth of experience and leadership qualities of his predecessor and wished him well as he proceeded to take up his new appointment.

The highlights of the event were signing of handing and taking over notes, guided tour of the brigade deployments, visit to other security agencies and Dikwa General Hospital. Thereafter, there was also inspection of the Quarter Guard, lowering and hosting of the Brigade’s flag which signifies an end to an era and the beginning of a new one.

The event was graced by officers and soldiers of the Brigade Headquarters, as well as members of other security agencies.
