The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nanna Nandap, on Thursday encouraged public relations officers of the Service participating in the ongoing Special Executive Membership Class organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the programme towards improving service delivery and strengthening the image of the Service.

The Comptroller-General commended the NIPR for organising the intensive capacity-building initiative, describing it as a valuable platform for professional development. She emphasised that the training would become a regular exercise aimed at enhancing the competencies of NIS reputation managers and equipping them for more effective performance in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Earlier, participants were taken through a series of practical and interactive public relations sessions by distinguished facilitators, including the Vice President of NIPR, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, fnipr; Chairman of the NIPR Legal Advisory Committee, Barr. Karibi George, fnipr; and Vice Chairman of the NIPR Training and Professional Development Committee, Dr. Monday Ashibogwu, fnipr.

The facilitators provided insights into contemporary public relations practice, strategic communication, reputation management and professional ethics, equipping participants with the tools required to effectively manage public perception and support the Service’s communication objectives.
