The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo, has presented a compensation cheque to the family of late Assistant Superintendent Corps I (ASC I) Ochuko Solomon, assuring them of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to the welfare of officers and their families.
The presentation took place at the State Command Headquarters in Asaba when the Commandant received members of the deceased officer’s family in his office.
Late ASC I Ochuko Solomon passed away on 15 February 2026 while serving as an operative of the NSCDC Delta State Command. Until his demise, he was attached to the facility of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited in Forcados, where he diligently carried out his assigned responsibilities.
The State Commandant explained that the family was invited to officially receive a compensation cheque issued by Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited in recognition of the late officer’s dedicated service to the company. The cheque was presented through the NSCDC Delta State Command as part of efforts to ensure due support for the bereaved family.
Speaking during the presentation, Commandant Chinedu encouraged the widow and other family members to remain strong and hopeful despite the painful loss. He assured them that the Corps would continue to follow up on other entitlements and benefits due to the late officer.
He further stated that the sacrifices and dedication of officers of the Corps would never be overlooked, noting that the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, remains committed to improving the welfare packages and working conditions of personnel across the country.
The Commandant also commended Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited for its support and sense of responsibility towards security personnel serving at its facilities, describing the gesture as a demonstration of corporate concern for the wellbeing of officers and their families.
He urged serving personnel of the Corps to remain dedicated, disciplined and professional in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the leadership of the NSCDC would continue to prioritise the welfare and morale of officers nationwide.
In his concluding remarks, Commandant Chinedu reassured the family of the late officer of the Command’s continued support and solidarity, emphasising that the NSCDC would always stand by families of fallen personnel whenever the need arises.
