NSCDC Commandant, Police Commissioner, Other Security Chiefs Inspect Kidnap Scene in Nasarawa Community

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, alongside the Commissioner of Police and other heads of security agencies, has carried out an on the spot assessment of the scene of a recent kidnapping incident in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The security assessment visit followed the reported abduction of five students and another resident by suspected kidnappers in the community. The visit was aimed at obtaining firsthand information on the incident, identifying possible security lapses, and strengthening coordinated security operations towards the rescue of the victims.

During the visit, the security chiefs toured strategic areas within the affected community and held consultations with local residents and community leaders on measures required to improve security surveillance and intelligence gathering in the area.

Speaking during the assessment, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru reaffirmed the commitment of all security agencies in the state to work in synergy through intelligence based operations and tactical deployment to secure the safe release of the abducted persons and bring the perpetrators to justice.

He assured residents of Gudi and neighbouring communities that additional security personnel and operational assets would be deployed to the area to prevent further criminal activities and restore public confidence.

The Commandant also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and law abiding while cooperating with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist ongoing investigations and rescue operations.

The Commissioner of Police and other security commanders equally reiterated their determination to sustain joint security operations across vulnerable communities in Nasarawa State as part of broader efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.

The NSCDC Nasarawa State Command, in collaboration with sister security agencies, maintained that it remains resolute in its mandate to protect lives and property and will continue to intensify operations until normalcy is fully restored in the affected community.
