The Nigerian Air Force has intensified its efforts under Operation HADIN KAI, successfully destroying a major terrorist enclave in Kangarwa, Borno State. The precision strike came after reliable intelligence confirmed heightened insurgent activity in the area, posing a threat to local communities and regional security.
Air Force spokesperson Ehimen Ejodame stated that the operation neutralized scores of fighters and destroyed critical infrastructure, significantly weakening the group’s operational capabilities. He added that the success reflects the Air Force’s commitment to leveraging advanced surveillance and precision targeting in the fight against terrorism.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, reaffirmed the service’s resolve to sustain air operations across affected regions, emphasizing that continuous pressure on insurgents remains key to restoring stability in the northeast.
Ejodame also highlighted the coordination between the Air Force and ground troops, noting that joint operations are improving intelligence accuracy and response times. He called on local communities to support the military by reporting suspicious activities, stressing that public cooperation is crucial for lasting peace.
In a related development, the Air Force announced plans to enhance aerial surveillance and deploy additional reconnaissance assets in vulnerable areas. This move aims to prevent the resurgence of insurgent groups and ensure that liberated communities in Borno can safely resume normal life.
