The Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST) has launched a two-day conference aimed at reviewing and enhancing its operational effectiveness across all military operations. The event, themed “Optimising ST Capabilities Towards Providing Effective Service Delivery to Nigerian Army Operations in All Missions,” began on 24 March 2026 at the Muhammadu Buhari Auditorium, Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), Benin City, Edo State.
The conference, led by Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya, CCST, serves as a strategic platform for professional reflection, institutional learning, and collective problem-solving. It brings together commanders and senior officers to exchange ideas, examine operational realities, and address emerging logistical challenges in a rapidly evolving security environment.
Speaking at the opening, the CCST emphasized the critical role of logistics in contemporary military operations. “Operational success is sustained not only by tactical brilliance and combat power but also by the reliability, responsiveness, and resilience of the logistics system supporting our forces,” he said.
The conference also provides an opportunity for frank professional engagement, encouraging participants to explore innovative approaches that will strengthen sustainment initiatives and improve overall efficiency in service delivery.
Major General Adebayo Olatunde Adegbite, Commandant of NASST, welcomed participants and noted that the event allows the CCST to interact directly with field commanders and senior officers to advance the Corps’ development in line with the Nigerian Army’s operational philosophy.
Highlights of the conference include a group photograph, commissioning of the Soldiers’ Dining Hall, unveiling of the remodeled NASST Driving Simulation Centre, and the dedication of Col I Taiwo Crescent. The conference will conclude with a Pulling-Out Ceremony and Gala Night on 26 March 2026, honoring distinguished retired generals of the Corps.
