The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday decorated 200 officers recently promoted in the 2025 promotion exercise.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, was presided over by the State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro.
Speaking at the event, Keshinro commended the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Civil Defence, Corrections and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) for ensuring a smooth and timely promotion process across the Corps and other agencies under the Ministry.
He also praised the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, for clearing the backlog of promotions in the Corps, describing the development as a significant boost to officers’ morale.
The State Commandant urged the newly promoted officers to justify their elevation by demonstrating professionalism, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties. He reminded them that promotion comes with increased responsibility and expectations.
A breakdown of the senior officers promoted in Lagos State showed that six Assistant Commandants of Corps were elevated to Deputy Commandants of Corps, while 22 Chief Superintendents of Corps were promoted to Assistant Commandants of Corps. Fourteen Superintendents of Corps moved up to Chief Superintendents of Corps, and 26 Deputy Superintendents of Corps were promoted to Superintendents of Corps.
Others include 34 Assistant Superintendents of Corps I promoted to Deputy Superintendents of Corps, 58 Assistant Superintendents of Corps II elevated to Assistant Superintendents of Corps I, as well as 10 Inspectors and 16 Chief Corps Assistants promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Corps II.
In addition, 11 Chief Corps Assistants and three Assistant Inspectors of Corps were promoted to the rank of Inspector, while other junior cadre personnel were also elevated to their respective new ranks.
The ceremony marked the formal conferment of ranks on the officers and reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to professionalism, career progression and effective service delivery in Lagos State.
