The decoration of newly promoted officers of the Federal Fire Service in Abuja on Wednesday witnessed a convergence of top leadership figures from Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies, as key institutional heads and senior decision-makers gathered to honour professionalism and merit within the Service.
The event was hosted by the Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi Olumode, and drew senior officials from sister agencies operating under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board. Their presence reflected the collective leadership responsible for shaping policy, coordination and operational standards across Nigeria’s paramilitary system.
Among those in attendance were the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Controller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, alongside other senior management officers. These officials represent the strategic leadership driving manpower development, discipline and institutional reforms within their respective agencies.
The gathering underscored the shared commitment of the paramilitary leadership to merit-based promotion, accountability and professionalism. It also highlighted the importance of inter-agency cooperation in strengthening internal security, emergency response and public safety nationwide.
Beyond celebrating individual career advancement, the ceremony served as a symbol of unity among Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies, reinforcing a common resolve to uphold high standards, support institutional growth and work collaboratively in service to the nation.
