The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has assured officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army of enhanced welfare measures aimed at boosting morale and improving operational effectiveness.
He gave the assurance while addressing troops of the 18 Brigade at Latini Barracks, Bida, Niger State, where he commended personnel for their dedication and efforts in sustaining peace within their area of responsibility.
Lt Gen Shaibu emphasised that troop welfare remains a top priority of the Army leadership, urging officers and soldiers to sustain the momentum in the fight against banditry and terrorism.
He also announced plans for the construction of new accommodation and the establishment of skills acquisition centres to support troops and their families, noting that improved living conditions and post-service skills are critical to long-term welfare and motivation.
