YULETIDE: NSCDC DEPLOYS 1,256 PERSONNEL TO SECURE LIVES AND PROTECT CRITICAL NATIONAL ASSETS IN KATSINA STATE


As part of strategic measures to ensure adequate security during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Katsina State Command, has deployed 1,256 officers and men across the state.
The deployment was approved by the State Commandant, Commandant of Corps A.D. Moriki, ACTI, ANIM, for the maintenance of peace and the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure before, during and after the yuletide period.
The State Commandant disclosed this while issuing the Operational Order on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Command Headquarters in Katsina. During a briefing with the Senior Management Team, he stressed that reviewed operational strategies, including intensified surveillance, intelligence gathering, community engagement and inter-agency collaboration, are critical to ensuring peace and security across the state.
Commandant Moriki charged Heads of Departments and Units, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Unit Commanders and Special Forces to ensure effective coordination and robust patrols to provide watertight security throughout Katsina State. He also urged all deployed personnel to remain disciplined, dedicated and professional, while working in synergy with other security agencies to guarantee a hitch-free festive period.
According to the Operational Order, personnel have been deployed to churches, recreational and event centres, motor parks, markets, festive locations and key facilities belonging to the Federal, State and Local Governments. In addition, undercover operatives have been strategically deployed to sensitive locations to provide timely and actionable intelligence aimed at preventing criminal activities within the state.
The Commandant called on members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or items to the nearest NSCDC office or security agency. He further extended his heartfelt felicitations to the Christian faithful in Katsina State, wishing them a Merry Christmas, and all residents a peaceful and prosperous New Year in advance.
