Federal Fire Service Dominates Inter-Agency Sports Competition, Clinches Multiple Titles

The Federal Fire Service (FFS) put up an outstanding and spirited display at the inter-agency sports competition held at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Field, Abuja, as part of the grand finale of the NIS Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Week, emerging as the overall standout team.

The highly competitive event featured Football and Tug-of-War contests, transforming the NIS Field into a hub of energy, discipline, and sporting excellence. From the opening moments, FFS athletes demonstrated confidence, teamwork, and determination, asserting their dominance across events.

In the football semi-finals, the Federal Fire Service defeated the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) 2–0 to secure a place in the final, while the Nigeria Immigration Service edged the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) by the same scoreline in the other semi-final. The NCoS later claimed third place after overcoming NSCDC.

The Tug-of-War competition saw the FFS team display remarkable strength and coordination, overpowering the Nigeria Immigration Service in the final to clinch first position convincingly.

The football final lived up to expectations, ending in a goalless draw after regulation time before the Federal Fire Service triumphed 3–1 in a dramatic penalty shootout, drawing loud cheers from spectators and participants.

Presenting the trophies, DCG Ada Umanah, who represented the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, commended all participating agencies for their sportsmanship, discipline, and commitment to inter-agency unity.

The competition highlighted the importance of fitness, teamwork, and collaboration among sister security agencies, with the Federal Fire Service emerging not only as champions but also as a symbol of resilience, unity, and excellence beyond the call of duty.
