Commandant Chinedu Revamps Female Squad, Flags Off School Protection Patrols

…Squad Begins Statewide School Visits, Enforces Park Regulations in Asaba…

In line with the operational activities rolled out by the Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo, to enhance the Corps’ core mandates—particularly Safe School initiatives, protection of critical infrastructure, and ensuring a secure Delta before, during, and after the festive season—he has launched a fully revamped and properly equipped Female Squad.

The Female Squad, the first of three specialised teams newly created by Commandant Chinedu, commenced operations under the leadership of the Head of the Safe School Unit, ACC Ijoma Sam. Their maiden assignment took them on patrol across schools in the state capital, Asaba, beginning with an enforcement operation at Koka Park, where they cleared indiscriminate parking and ensured compliance with park regulations by commuter bus drivers.

The squad’s first school visit was to Zappa Secondary School, followed by Niger Mixed Secondary School, Azagba Secondary School, and others. School management teams, already familiar with and appreciative of the Safe School Unit’s previous interventions, warmly welcomed the Female Squad. They also requested more frequent patrols, noting that such presence would boost staff and student confidence and enable uninterrupted teaching and learning.

The team leader assured school authorities of Commandant Chinedu’s unwavering commitment to ensuring adequate school protection and providing swift emergency response whenever required.

Commandant Igbo, aligning with the directive of the Presidency through the Office of the Commandant General, NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, reaffirmed that Deltans should expect intensified, safety-focused patrols across all schools in Delta State until a fully secure and conducive learning environment is achieved.
