Nigeria’s newly appointed Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd.), is scheduled to deliver the keynote address as Guest of Honour at the 2025 People’s Security Monitor Security Summit and Recognition Awards. The summit, which convenes leading figures in national security, emergency management, and public safety, will focus on strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture through innovative strategies and enhanced collaboration.
General Musa will speak on the theme “Building a Safer Nation Through Collective Responsibility,” a topic widely regarded as central to Nigeria’s current security challenges and reform efforts. His keynote is expected to highlight the roles of government, security agencies, communities, and citizens in strengthening national resilience and promoting sustainable peace.
The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, starting at 10 a.m. prompt. Stakeholders across the defence, intelligence, law enforcement, and civil society sectors are expected to participate in the high-level gathering.
According to a statement released by the organisers, “this year’s summit is particularly significant as Nigeria continues to pursue a more unified, strategic, and community-driven approach to national safety. General Musa’s keynote will provide valuable insight into the collective actions required to build a more secure future for all citizens.”
