NSCDC Special Mining Marshal Czar, John Onoja Attah, to Speak on “Economic Benefits of a Sustainable and Responsible Mining Industry” at 2025 People’s Security Monitor Security Summit

The Special Mining Marshal Czar, John Onoja Attah, is set to deliver a keynote address at the 2025 People’s Security Monitor Security Summit and Recognition Awards. His presentation, themed “Economic Benefits of a Sustainable and Responsible Mining Industry,” will explore the link between responsible mining practices, economic growth, and national security.

The summit, scheduled for Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, starting at 10 a.m. prompt, will convene stakeholders from government, private sector, security agencies, and civil society. Discussions will center on improving collaboration across sectors to enhance security, safety, and economic sustainability in Nigeria’s mining industry.

According to a statement released by the organisers, “ACC John Onoja’s keynote is particularly timely as Nigeria seeks to balance economic development with sustainable and responsible mining practices. His insights will shed light on how the mining sector can contribute meaningfully to national growth while ensuring community safety and environmental protection.”

The organisers added that the 2025 summit aims to provide a platform for robust dialogue among policymakers, security experts, and industry leaders, while also recognising outstanding contributions to public safety and national security. Participants are expected to gain practical strategies for advancing sustainable practices that benefit both the economy and national security.
