The Controller of the Federal Fire Service, DCF Nwachukwu Eno Kelechi, has received in her office the Commander of the Nigerian Army 4 Special Forces Command, Major General O.A. Awolowo, during a courtesy visit to the Federal Fire Service, Nasarawa State Command.
The visit marks a significant step toward strengthening operational collaboration between the two strategic agencies, both committed to enhancing security and public safety across the state.
During the meeting, both leaders engaged in strategic discussions focused on improving operational synergy. They reviewed current security and emergency-response challenges faced by their respective agencies and identified areas requiring deeper cooperation. They emphasized that seamless inter-agency coordination is essential for effective emergency response, crisis management, and maintaining public order.
Speaking during the visit, Major General Awolowo underscored the vital role of the Federal Fire Service in Nasarawa State’s security and safety architecture. He called for closer coordination, joint training programmes, and real-time information sharing especially during complex emergency situations.
“The 4 Special Forces Command is fully committed to supporting our sister agencies,” Major General Awolowo stated. “The safety of Nasarawa State residents is a collective responsibility. This visit reinforces our partnership with the Federal Fire Service to ensure synchronized operations and a secure environment for firefighters to carry out their life-saving duties.”
In her response, the State Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Nasarawa State Command, expressed deep appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and strategic. She reaffirmed the Service’s unwavering commitment to inter-agency collaboration and its constitutional mandate to safeguard lives and property.
“We deeply appreciate the Commander and the 4 Special Forces Command for this engagement,” she stated. “The Federal Fire Service cannot work in isolation. Our mandate aligns with the security support provided by the Nigerian Army. We look forward to strengthening this partnership—particularly in joint drills, emergency preparedness, incident-scene security, and training. This synergy is essential for effective service delivery to the people of Nasarawa State.”
