The third day of the National Fire Safety Week 2025 unfolded with energy and inspiration as the fire safety awareness campaign moved through schools across Abuja. From Royal Family Academy in Wuye to Government Secondary School in Garki, students welcomed the team with enthusiasm and curiosity.
The message urging young people to move past the “Not My Portion Mentality” resonated deeply. Students listened attentively, asked thoughtful questions, and showed genuine interest in understanding fire hazards, early warning signs, and the correct steps to take during an emergency.
Live demonstrations brought the lessons to life. The arrival of the fire truck, the ignition of the hose line, and the powerful stream of water shooting into the air sparked excitement across the school grounds. Students gathered eagerly to see the equipment in action, paying close attention as firefighters demonstrated how to operate fire extinguishers and remain composed in the face of danger.
The students’ engagement, reactions, and eagerness to learn made it clear that these sessions are helping to cultivate a more safety-conscious generation. By the end of the day, both schools had embraced the mission wholeheartedly proving once again that fire safety education is an essential tool for building safer communities.
