Audi Commends Corps’ Benefactor, Engr. Vincent Okopi Adukwu, for Support

The Benue State capital, Makurdi, on Monday hosted the official commissioning of the newly renovated Quarter Guard and Provost Office of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Benue State Command.

The Commandant General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, was represented by the Zonal Commander, Zone 8 Makurdi, Assistant Commandant General Solomon T. Iyamu, fsi. He commended the Corps’ benefactor, Engr. Vincent Okopi Adukwu, Managing Director/CEO of Greg & Co ICT Hub Makurdi, for his consistent partnership with the NSCDC.

Engr. Adukwu has supported the Corps through manpower training, refurbishment of operational vehicles, provision of logistics, and most notably, the renovation of the Command’s Quarter Guard. “On behalf of the Commandant General, I extend the Corps’ warmest appreciation for your unique and sacrificial contributions to the NSCDC,” Iyamu said.

The Commandant General affirmed the Corps’ readiness to deepen its collaboration with Greg & Co ICT Hub, recognized as one of Central Nigeria’s largest ICT hubs, especially in cyber security training and capacity building for officers and men. He also expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his sustained support, noting that it has boosted personnel morale in the fight against insecurity.

Benue State Commandant, CC Bitrus Alice Larai, highlighted Adukwu’s numerous interventions, including free cyber security training, renovation of the Corps’ multipurpose hall (now named after the Commandant General), refurbishment of operational vehicles for Makurdi and Otukpo Divisions, provision of electricity, and donation of a public address system. “These humanitarian gestures,” she said, “have greatly enhanced the effectiveness of officers in service delivery.”

In his remarks, Engr. Adukwu described his philanthropy as a modest way of giving back to society. He praised the NSCDC’s professionalism and pledged continued support to the Corps and other security agencies.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by top security chiefs, including the State Commissioner of Police, the State Director of DSS, heads of FRSC, NDLEA, Fire Service, Corrections, NIMC, NAPTIP, representatives of the Benue State Bureau of Homeland Security, senior Army and Navy officers, and Commandants of NSCDC from Zone 8.
