Kogi Police Commissioner Hosts New NSCDC Commandant, Reaffirms Commitment to Inter-Agency Collaboration

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has received the newly deployed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, Mr. Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, on a courtesy visit to the Police Command Headquarters in Lokoja.

The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen inter-agency solidarity and reaffirm both agencies’ commitment to a collaborative approach in the fight against crime and criminality across the state.

Speaking during the visit, Commandant Ebenezer explained that his mission was to seek sustained partnership and synergy between the Police and NSCDC in Kogi State. He emphasized that security challenges could only be effectively tackled through strong cooperation among sister agencies. According to him, intelligence sharing and joint operations are critical to achieving improved public safety and efficient security management.

In his response, CP Dantawaye commended Commandant Ebenezer for the visit and acknowledged the importance of strengthening inter-agency collaboration. He noted that such cooperation creates a platform for security agencies to exchange ideas, improve policing strategies, and enhance community safety.

The Commissioner stressed that collaboration between the Police and NSCDC brings mutual benefits, particularly in emergency response and public safety services. He further highlighted that the timely flow of credible intelligence is a key factor in preventing and managing crime proactively.

CP Dantawaye also reemphasized the need for strategic intelligence sharing between both agencies, adding that improved cooperation would foster more effective crime-fighting strategies and strengthen public confidence in security institutions.

The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge by both leaders to sustain and deepen inter-agency synergy, ensuring that the Police and NSCDC work hand-in-hand to confront emerging security threats and maintain peace and order across Kogi State.
