Nigerian Army Arrests Suspected Nigerien Terrorist in Yobe, Neutralizes Others

Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected Nigerien terrorist while he attempted to breach a security perimeter in Yobe State.

In addition to the arrest, the troops neutralized several terrorists, apprehended others, and rescued victims in a series of operations across multiple theatres.

A reliable source from the Nigerian military disclosed that the suspect’s inability to communicate in any Nigerian language triggered further investigations into possible cross-border terrorist affiliations.

The operation was reportedly carried out by personnel of the 120 Task Force Battalion in Katarko, located in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

In a related operation in Borno State, two relatives of terrorists an adult female and a child voluntarily surrendered to troops of the 202 Battalion in Bama, after fleeing the Churchur axis. The source described this as evidence of continued military pressure on terrorist strongholds.

Elsewhere in Ondo State, troops of the 323 Artillery Regiment, operating in Igbara-Oke, Ifedore Local Government Area, intercepted two suspected arms dealers trying to purchase weapons. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly acting on instructions from an inmate at Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos, believed to be orchestrating criminal activities in Zamfara State.

In another operation conducted in Delta State, troops discovered a tricycle loaded with approximately 200 litres of suspected illegally refined diesel along the Jeddo–Omadino axis in Warri South Local Government Area.

Additionally, in a separate clearance mission, troops apprehended seven suspects from a suspected IPOB/ESN hideout in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area. Recovered items included a motorcycle, four mobile phones, and other logistical supplies.
