The soldiers also seized a Dane gun and demolished several makeshift structures used by insurgents for shelter and storage.
Elsewhere in Monguno, Borno State, vigilant troops intercepted a suspicious vehicle believed to be ferrying supplies to terrorists. One suspect was apprehended, and the seized items included 65 litres of petrol, bags of rice and groundnuts, NPK fertilizers, yam tubers, motorcycle headlights, solar panels and lamps, 2,000 empty cement bags, and a mobile phone.
In Kaduna State, troops of the 2 Battalion on escort duty in Birnin Gwari came under attack from armed assailants riding motorcycles. Following a brief pursuit and engagement, the soldiers recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
