The Plateau State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ishaku Musa, has called for a renewed intelligence-sharing network between citizens and security agencies. He emphasised the need for citizens to volunteer timely intelligence to the appropriate security bodies to enable prompt action.
Commandant Musa, who made this appeal yesterday during a media parley, stated that citizens’ cooperation with security agencies forms a critical part of the security architecture necessary for the overall success of security operations.
“Security agents and citizens cannot afford to work at cross purposes if we truly want to purge Nigeria of insecurity. While I commend the good people of Plateau State for their cooperation so far, I urge them to do even more.
“There is no gainsaying the fact that timely intelligence saves lives and resources. We must prioritise it. We need to strengthen our security network with renewed vigour and ensure that agents of insecurity among us are exposed.” said Commandant Musa.
He also charged all NSCDC operatives to continue upholding the virtues of ethical conduct and integrity, which they are known for in all their dealings with members of the public.
