The Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Mobilisation Committee, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun Disu, as part of efforts to promote peace and security ahead of the forthcoming elections in Osun State.

The visit comes amid growing preparations for the polls and ongoing engagements between political stakeholders and security agencies aimed at ensuring a peaceful electoral process.

Speaking after the meeting, Davido emphasised the importance of protecting lives and property during the election period, noting that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration has consistently placed a premium on the security and welfare of residents across the state.

He said the governor remains committed to maintaining peace and stability, stressing that political violence, intimidation and thuggery should have no place in Osun’s democratic process.

Davido also commended the recent consultations involving security agencies, including the police command and other members of the state’s security architecture, describing them as crucial steps towards safeguarding communities and preventing electoral disturbances.

According to him, the commitment demonstrated by law enforcement authorities to tackle criminal elements and disrupt potential threats to public order is encouraging and aligns with the collective desire for peaceful elections.

He urged political actors, supporters and residents to cooperate with security agencies and refrain from actions capable of undermining the peace of the state.

The campaign committee chairman further expressed confidence that with effective collaboration among stakeholders, Osun State would witness a transparent, credible and violence-free electoral process.

He maintained that every eligible voter must be allowed to exercise his or her constitutional right without fear, intimidation or harassment, adding that the preservation of peace remains essential to the success of the democratic process.

The visit underscores ongoing efforts by political leaders and security authorities to foster a secure environment ahead of the election and ensure that the outcome reflects the genuine will of the electorate.
