Nasarawa NSCDC Commandant, Muhammed Ingawa, Opens On Nasarawa Security, Says NSCDC Has Redoubled Efforts On Intelligence Gathering

In an exclusive interview with the editorial team of Nasarawa Today Magazine, Commandant Muhammed Kabiru Ingawa of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Nasarawa State Command, shared insights into the antecedents of the Command under his leadership. The Commandant reflected on the progress made, challenges faced, and future plans for the Command.

Q: Commandant, thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Can you tell us about the achievements of the NSCDC Nasarawa State Command under your leadership?

A: Thank you for having me. I’m proud to say that we’ve made significant strides in maintaining peace and security in Nasarawa State. We’ve strengthened our partnerships with other security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders to tackle security challenges. Our officers have undergone rigorous training to enhance their skills and response to emergencies.

Q: That’s impressive. What specific initiatives have you implemented to improve security in the state?

A: We’ve implemented several initiatives, including community policing, intelligence gathering, and patrol operations. We’ve also established a robust system for reporting and responding to security incidents. Additionally, we’ve engaged with local communities to build trust and foster cooperation.

Q: How do you address the challenges of insecurity in the state, particularly in rural areas?

A: Insecurity is a complex issue that requires a multi-faceted approach. We’ve worked with local leaders and communities to identify and address the root causes of insecurity. We’ve also increased our presence in rural areas, providing security coverage and support to vulnerable communities.

Q: What are your plans for the future of the NSCDC Nasarawa State Command?

A: We plan to continue strengthening our partnerships, enhancing our training and equipment, and improving our response to security challenges. We’ll also focus on community engagement and outreach programs to build trust and promote security awareness.

Q: Finally, what message would you like to convey to the people of Nasarawa State?

A: I’d like to assure the people of Nasarawa State that the NSCDC is committed to protecting their lives and property. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to us. Together, we can build a safer and more secure community.
