
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Gombe State Command, led by Commandant Gyama Gyawiya, has held a meeting with religious leaders to promote understanding, cooperation, and mutual respect between security agencies and the religious community. This initiative is part of the NSCDC’s mandate to monitor the activities of religious bodies, trade unions, and other organizations, as outlined in the NSCDC Act Section 3 (G) (H) 2007.
Commandant Gyawiya emphasized the crucial role faith plays in shaping values, morals, and collective purpose. He urged the religious leaders to work together with security agencies to promote peace and security development in Gombe State and the Nation.
The meeting was attended by prominent religious leaders, including the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Gombe State, Khadi Usman Baba Liman Rtd and the Representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman, Rev Adams L. Adagi. These leaders pledged to collaborate with the NSCDC and other security agencies to foster peace in Gombe.
This initiative demonstrates the NSCDC’s commitment to building partnerships with all stakeholders to promote peace and security. By working together, the NSCDC and religious leaders can help address security challenges and promote a safer, more harmonious community.
