The newly appointed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, Commandant Sotiyo Igbalawole Emmanuel, has assumed duty with a call on officers and men of the Command to uphold discipline, professionalism, teamwork and unwavering commitment to duty.

Sotiyo gave the charge on Monday, September 14, 2026, while addressing personnel during the Command’s parade at the State Command Headquarters in Ekiti.

The Commandant stressed the need for officers and men to work together as a united team and remain committed to the core mandate of the Corps. He noted that discipline, professionalism, teamwork and dedication were essential to effective security operations and quality service delivery.

“We have to be selfless and more dedicated to our duties, while exhibiting the highest standards of professionalism in service delivery,” he told the personnel.

Sotiyo also warned officers and men against complacency, urging them to demonstrate integrity, responsibility and respect for the rules guiding the operations of the Corps. He said every personnel had a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the protection of lives, property and critical national assets in the state.

As part of his immediate administrative engagements, the Commandant commenced a series of meetings with heads of departments and units across the Command.

The meetings are designed to enable him to familiarise himself with the various departments, review their activities, identify operational challenges and explore measures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

The Commandant said the engagements would also provide an opportunity to strengthen coordination among the different units and establish clear priorities for the Command under his leadership.

He reiterated his commitment to building a more disciplined, united and result oriented Command, while ensuring that personnel remain responsive to the security needs of residents and communities across Ekiti State.

Sotiyo urged the personnel to embrace teamwork and maintain a strong sense of duty, assuring them that his administration would encourage professionalism, accountability and effective service delivery in the discharge of the NSCDC mandate.
