Eid-el-Kabir: NSCDC Deploys Tactical Units Across Ondo to Strengthen Security

The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps) has announced the deployment of officers, men, and operational assets across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The State Commandant, Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye (JP), issued the directive through an Operational Order circulated to all formations and tactical unit heads on Friday, May 22, 2026, as part of proactive measures ahead of the festivities.
Security coverage will extend to prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, motor parks, worship centres, and other critical public infrastructure at the federal, state, and local government levels.
Specialised units deployed for the operation include the Agro Rangers Squad, Armed Squad, Female Strike Force, Rapid Tactical Squad, Anti-Vandal Squad, CBRNE Unit, Counter-Terrorism Unit, and the Disaster Management Unit. These teams are expected to operate in strategic locations and identified flashpoints across the state.
According to the Command, the deployment of these tactical and intelligence-driven units is aimed at preventing crime, enhancing visibility policing, and ensuring a safe environment before, during, and after the celebrations.
Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have also been directed to intensify patrols, improve surveillance, and strengthen collaboration with sister security agencies through effective intelligence sharing.
Commandant Ibiloye urged personnel to remain disciplined, vigilant, and professional in the discharge of their duties, while strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Rules of Engagement (ROE), and Service Orders.
He also extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslim faithful, calling on them to embrace the values of sacrifice, peace, and unity, while advising residents of the state to remain law-abiding and security conscious throughout the festive period.
