The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi Olumode, are among top dignitaries expected at the 2026 People’s Security Monitor Conference and Awards in Abuja.

The annual conference is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Auditorium of the Nigeria National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja.
Also expected at the event is the Commander General of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Navy Captain Umar Bakori (rtd), alongside senior military officers, intelligence chiefs, paramilitary agencies, traditional rulers, and civil society organisations committed to strengthening security collaboration in Nigeria.

Organisers of the event said the conference is aimed at promoting synergy among security agencies, encouraging intelligence sharing, and advancing practical solutions to emerging security challenges facing the nation.

The conference will equally recognise outstanding individuals, institutions, and state governments that have distinguished themselves in the areas of security management, crime prevention, emergency response, and peace building across the federation.

Attention is expected to focus on Gombe State following increasing commendation of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s security initiatives, which observers say have contributed significantly to the state’s peaceful environment and growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s safest states.
