The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering effective and credible election security across the state.
The State Commandant, Commandant Oluyemi Joshua Ibiloye, made this known while receiving the newly deployed Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Ondo State. He noted that the Corps has established a strong and functional partnership with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
He further observed that INEC has made notable progress in the deployment of technology to enhance electoral operations, describing it as a significant transition from earlier manual processes and a critical step towards greater transparency and accountability.
In his remarks, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Olaleke Agboke, commended the sustained collaboration between the two agencies, stating that it has played a key role in ensuring the successful conduct of elections in the state.
Reinforcing this position, the REC emphasised that continued engagement through the Inter Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) would strengthen public confidence and improve electoral outcomes.
“My philosophy is that the people’s votes must count, and ultimately determine the outcome of elections,” he stated.
