The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, has assured the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) of its readiness to actively participate in and support the forthcoming Crisis Response Exercise scheduled to hold in Delta State.

The State Commandant, Chinedu F. Igbo, gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by Rear Admiral A.O. Ayo-Vaughan, Head of the Presidential Command and Control Centre under the Office of the National Security Adviser, and his team to the NSCDC Delta State Command headquarters.

The visit formed part of the advance preparations ahead of the commencement of the Crisis Response Exercise, which is being coordinated by ONSA.

Speaking during the visit, Rear Admiral Ayo-Vaughan disclosed that the exercise would be conducted outside the Federal Capital Territory for the first time, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening national emergency preparedness and inter-agency cooperation across the country.

According to him, the exercise is designed to assess the preparedness and capacity of security agencies to respond effectively to crises and emergencies, while also evaluating the level of synergy, coordination, and collaboration among security and emergency response agencies operating in Delta State.

He explained that the advance visit was aimed at briefing service commanders and other stakeholders on ONSA’s expectations and operational requirements ahead of the exercise, to ensure seamless participation and successful execution.

In his response, Commandant Igbo reaffirmed the commitment of the NSCDC Delta State Command to the success of the exercise. He assured the visiting team that the Corps would provide the necessary support and cooperation to guarantee a smooth and effective operation.

The Commandant further emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing contemporary security challenges, noting that the exercise would enhance operational readiness and strengthen coordinated responses to emergencies and security threats within the state and beyond.
